In addition to providing Los Angeles janitorial services, we support all aspects of cleaning. If your business like many right now, is currently operating with your employees working home. That gives you the opportunity to deep cleaning that you might not have been able to before. But how? In a previous blog we went over some tips on general spring cleaning, but we decided to go further and help highlight some areas that warrant cleaning when you’re undertaking the spring cleaning process. In this blog, we will focus on the kitchen.
Clean Your Cabinets
A good place to start in your kitchen is the cabinets. Use a damp rag to wipe off the cabinets and their doors, but when dealing with wood, make sure you ring the rag out before you use it. Clean the whole cabinet, including the top of it. If you run into grease, you can use a vinegar solution to get it off. Wipe off cabinets with a dry rag after wiping them down to protect the surface.
Clean Your Refrigerator
To start with your refrigerator, one helpful maintenance tip is to vacuum out the coils. Once you’ve done this, you can move on to the inside of your refrigerator. Remove everything from the fridge, so that you can clean it more easily. Clean from top to bottom. When you put everything back inside your refrigerator, check expiration dates, and make sure to throw out things that are past their prime. Clean the outside too, making sure to disinfect the handles.
Clean The Stove Top
Next, if your kitchen has a range, the stove is a major problem area. Wipe down the stove thoroughly, making sure to remove grease and debris. One way to remove greasy film is to use mineral oil. Once you’ve wiped it down with that, use warm water and dish soap to remove the oil. Some ovens have a self-cleaning function. If yours does, use this. If not, you can use oven cleaner to clean your oven. Follow the instructions. Let it sit for the appropriate amount of time before removing it. For hard to remove stains, you can use dish soap and lemon. Just add this to the area then scrub it or wipe it until it’s clean.
Clean The Microwave
Cleaning the microwave is not too hard. One way to make it easier is by mixing a tablespoon of vinegar with a cup of water and microwaving it on high for five minutes. Doing so will coat your microwave and make it easier to wipe away debris. Just wipe down the microwave after and you should have it clean in no time. If your microwave has special instructions for cleaning make sure to follow them. Don’t use any wipes that may cause damage to the surface.
Deep-Clean The Counters
When cleaning your kitchen, make sure to wipe down your countertops. Remove items from the counters before cleaning, then use a disinfectant to clean them. Make sure to clean hard-to-reach places and areas that may be neglected throughout the year. Once you’re done you can put items back where they belong, and even put away items that were out but shouldn’t be.
